ABOUT US

Mission Statement

Soroptimism came to the North Olympic Peninsula of Washington State, February 26, 1944 when Soroptimist International of Tacoma chartered Soroptimist International of Port Angeles with 35 charter members.  Our club has become known as the “Mother Club” of the Olympic Peninsula because four clubs were created as a result of our club.  These include Soroptimist International of Sequim, Jet Set of Port Angeles, Soroptimist International of Port Townsend and the Rain Forest Soroptimist Club of Forks.  For more information about the history of our club, click on SIPA History.

Our mission is to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment, and to serve as a voice on issues of importance to women and girls.  We are governed by an elected board and we follow written bylaws for club operation and program development and implementation.
